Among the beautiful painting exhibitions that started in 2022 and continue into the new year are:

  • “Antonio Ligabue. L’ora senz’ombra” in Modena, visibile until 5 February at Galleria BPER Banca.

Craft and Contemporary Art Fairs in Italy

Florence is home to MIDA, the International Handicraft Exhibition, from 25 April to 1 May 2023 at Fortezza da Basso. It took off in 1931 as the first craft fair in Italy, and still today, it’s an important event for the handmade sector.Milan is Italy’s capital of contemporary art. It hosts Miart from 14 to 16 February and two other prestigious events – Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone – from 18 to 23 April. Verona is also the place for opera lovers: from 16 June until 9 September 2023, it proposes an extraordinary calendar to celebrate the 100th Arena Opera Festival! It will present 50 of the most successful works performed in the theatre since its beginnings in 1913.Poetry lovers have time until 12 March to check out the exhibition that celebrates 100 years since the birth of Pier Paolo Pasolini.
