Ceramic crafts: the classic elements of pottery craft encounter digital design
The ancient art of ceramics is one of humanity’s earliest expressions — a testament to our ability to shape and reinvent matter with our hands.
Today, this timeless craft is finding new life through modern technology and design innovation.
We offer a training course where classic pottery meets digital design and contemporary art.
Our goal: to nurture a new generation of potters — creators who honor tradition while embracing modern perspectives and techniques.
Ceramic Crafts is more than a course — it’s a creative laboratory where you will:
- Learn and experiment with traditional and digital approaches
- Combine diverse materials and ideas
- Develop a personal, modern artistic identity
You’ll experience an inspiring journey across wheel-throwing, 3D design, sculpture, mold-making, and the creation of both unique and reproducible ceramic pieces.
Our Teaching Method
Our approach blends hands-on practice with conceptual exploration, connecting the heritage of Italian craftsmanship with the future of design.
- Empowering artisans: Develop your technical skills and creative vision to become a modern craftsperson.
- Guided learning: Skilled practitioners lead each class, sharing real-world experience as ceramists, sculptors, and designers.
- Personalized feedback: Instructors provide one-on-one guidance, helping you refine your techniques and overcome challenges.
- Practice-based learning: Assignments and projects ensure deep understanding through repetition and experimentation.
- Theory meets practice: Classes integrate ceramic craft with art, design, and sculpture principles.
Professional Pottery Classes Overview

This ceramic course consists of 2 modules
MODULE 12 weeks
Material Practice, Surface and the Intelligence of the Hands
Available as a standalone module
The first par t of the program is an immersive experience focused on ceramic making and material exploration.
Students work intensively with clay, tools and surfaces, developing solid technical skills and a deep understanding of ceramic processes through daily practice.
This phase places the hand and the material at the center of learning.
Wheel throwing, hand building and sculptural practices are explored as interconnected languages.
Students learn to shape form through gesture, volume and balance, approaching ceramics both as a functional craft and as an expressive medium.
A strong emphasis is placed on surface research, decoration and glazing. Students experiment extensively with textures, finishes and chromatic outcomes, developing advanced sensitivity toward surfaces and material transformation
MODULE 20 weeks
Accessible after completion of Module I
The second par t of the program focuses on the development of a personal ceramic project.
Building on the technical skills and material knowledge acquired during the first phase, students begin to define a conceptual direction and develop a coherent ceramic collection or body of work.
This phase introduces a more structured design and project-oriented approach. Experimentation becomes intentional, guided by concept, research and narrative, while remaining deeply rooted in making and surface exploration.
Within this phase, students take par t in a dedicated demonstrative workshop focused on digital design and fabrication for ceramics.
The workshop shows how a ceramic object can be conceived through 3D modeling, par ticularly in cases where forms cannot be easily achieved through traditional wheel-thrown techniques.
- Sculptural techniques for ceramics, both figurative and abstract
- Mold making and casting techniques
- Small series production
- Advanced surface and glazing experimentation
- Concept development and personal research
- Demonstration of 3D modeling for ceramics
- Ceramic 3D printing and object reproduction
- Individual decoration and surface interpretation
This phase includes the development of the final project.
These pottery courses will encourage you to think and to develop the essential elements of your own design identity.
