Marbling paper in Italy!

 

Our marbling paper workshop lasts 1, 2 or more weeks. The workshop is offered all year round.

The programme includes:

• Aspects of decoration of paper with acrylic colour in a bath of vegetable glue

• Techniques of decoration with special combs

• Preparation of colours

• Methods of spraying colour on the surface of the glue

• Creation of decorated sheets

• Use of sheets to decorate objects like albums, boxes, pencils, pen holders, letter holders, and cards.

This course is individual and is taught in Italian. The programme can be adapted to your own needs.

This course is completely hands-on and it is conducted by our local artisan.

Our  course takes places in a real Florentine artisan workshop “bottega”. The workshop is located in the historic centre of Florence.

Italy is world famous for this technique, especially in Florence, where bookbinders continue to use it according to old techniques. The course is open to all levels and ages, and it is especially recommendable for children.

Accommodation is available from Sunday to Sunday.

 

• Costs of water, gas and electricity are included. Towels and sheets are provided.

• Flats are shared with Italians, generally between 2 or 3 persons.

• Accommodations are assigned only 20 days before your arrival in Italy.

• Sometimes it is possible to request a private bathroom (supplement required).
