Painting course in Florence
Our course runs in an art workshop “bottega” in Florence. The Italian bottega was the place where the most famous Italian artists, such as Giotto, Leonardo and Raffaello, learned the painting techniques.
All these painters, in fact, did not learn how to paint in an art school but in a bottega.
Today, following this ancient learning method, we offer you the same opportunity: to paint in a real Florentine bottega!
The workshop is located in the historic centre of Florence. It is open all year round and you can take short or long term courses. This painting course is open to all levels.

I cannot submit this review without commenting on my amazing teacher, Lucetta. I walked every week day through Florence to her studio to learn about the Renaissance Art Period. I cannot believe how much I learned about the different artists, the style, the techniques and skills used. I really learned why these artists were and still are so influential to artists across Art History including modern art today. Alongside the learning, I practised the skills by producing some of my own artwork. I could not have done this without Lucetta. I invested in her but equally, she recognised the artist within me and assisted in my growth and development. After the two weeks, I realised I had learned a wealth of knowledge about the Renaissance Art period and I felt more confident as an artist and the use of oil paint in particular. The first steps are the hardest and then as with all journeys, once started, you gain confidence and even if you don’t know where you’re heading exactly, the process is both enjoyable, challenging, exhilarating and worthwhile!
Federica at StudiainItalia was amazingly efficient from the moment we spoke. She found me beautiful accommodation and an outstanding Art teacher at last minute, in August which was a miracle! I cannot thank Federica enough for such an excellent service and when I wasn’t sure about anything, she answered my phonecalls and reassured me every step of the way, sending maps via email and all the relevant information.

We loved the course experience. I wish all our artist-colleagues could have the opportunity to work with Lucetta. She know how to challenge her students in a gracious and lighthearted manner. We wished we could bring her home with us.

Lucetta was fantastic. We love her and valued learning from her. She has a gracious spirit and a wealth of knowledge. Deborah and I were both teachers and we immediately recognized Lucetta as a Master Teacher.
The only thing that could have been better was our lodging itself. We really appreciated Paola personally. She is a dear person who always responded promptly to needs. But the apartment itself was less than we had hoped. I am aware that our needs were a bit exceptional, but the apartment was difficult for us. Maybe if the organization could develop a list of alternative lodgings it would help. I don’t know.

I was fascinated with the course! It was an amazing intensive week! I was fascinated to learn oil painting with Lucetta! She is a genius, she explains the technique with a lot of passion and patience. I loved learning the techniques of the colours, the light, the dark and the depth. She is very attentive to what you are painting and guides you in such a way that you achieve your own creation. I felt very comfortable. And I really enjoyed talking and learning about the secrets of the great painters, art, history and other subjects that enrich the soul. I can’t wait to take classes with Lucetta again and I hope I can stay longer next time, because Florence really is a magical city where you discover something new every day, and I would also like to thank you for the accommodation. Amalia is lovely, I really enjoyed my stay in her house. I felt very comfortable and I loved meeting her and sharing dinners and chats with her, it was a spectacular week! Thank you very much!

The oil painting course with Lucetta, organised by Studia in Italia, was a wonderful experience. Lucetta is a patient, helpful and very giving teacher. I learned a lot from her and with her guidance, I expanded my oil painting skills beyond expectations. Her extensive knowledge enables her to support her students in whichever painting technique they would like to improve. I found communication with Lucetta very easy and hope to come back one day, to take some more painting lessons from her.I would also like to say here that the staff of Studia in Italia, especially Federica, have been extremely helpful and very intent on organising everything according to my requirements. This, combined with the stay in the marvellous city of Florence, have made my study experience in Italy a remarkable experience. Thank you all.

It was my pleasure to take the painting course with my instructor Lucetta Risaliti via Studia in Italia. In only four days i was able to finish an oil painting, knowing that i had a previous experience in drawing but this was my first experience in drawing with oil. Lucetta was very helpful and i learned a lot from her. And of course i must admit that Florence for me is a magical artistic city, and i fell in love with it ? i really believe that the magic of this city is the reason that i was able to finish my painting in such a short time. If i had the chance to come again to Florence, I would definitely come again ?

Greetings, I found the price of the stay reasonable, it was a great help, everyone was very friendly, the workshop with Virginia was a very good experience, lots of pizza and I found out everything about the current political situation, Rome is intense, Florence is beautiful without tourists, the best gelato I ate at Alla Carraia and Venice is unique. How does Studiainitalia work in Brazil and Argentina?
