I highly recommend taking a course with StudiainItalia. I came to Firenze for a leather work course with Alicia, a very talented and amazing artisan. I gained so much in my short stay and would definitely come back in the future.Federica and the team at the school were incredibly helpful and attentive. Answering many of my questions for months while I was overseas and being very accommodating.A very unique experience professionally and personally.

  2. Alice

I was looking foward to my period in Florence but I had no idea it would change my life.Alicia comes from a lineage of artisan’s and she embodieds the spirit of crafts. She is a wonderful teacher, amazing human being and her expertise goes way beyond. What I could see and live while in the Bottega will help me in so many ways.I arrived home a month ago and only now I am begining to take in all I have experienced in Florence. My workshop has already suffered a lot of changes since then and my work in general has gone to another level. I couldn’t put in words how gratefull I am. One thing is for sure: I am definetly coming back as soon as I can.

When I first thought about taking some courses in Italy, I looked at several of these so-called schools on the internet. StudiainItalia was the only one that was professional enough to reply to my questions. Once we connected, Federica made the enrollment process so easy and smooth for me. She even came by the school and met me in person one day. I’m old school so I always appreciate the personal touch and enjoy meeting people face to face. She took care of me and I have no doubt her team will take good care of you if you sign up with StudiainItalia. In terms of the leatherwork course, I really enjoyed it and learned a great deal. It really exceeded any expectations I had. Alicia is an experienced artisan as well as a great teacher that really understands the craft. Her logical and practical approach to the craft makes the process very understandable. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in leatherwork professionally or as a hobby.

My leatherwork course in Florence far exceeded my expectations! Alicia is not only a skilled artisan and excellent teacher, but a very warm person who made me feel welcome in the workshop every day. She is meticulous in her approach, ensuring that each item is constructed and finished to a very high standard. I made three bags and a number of small purses over two weeks. The one-on-one learning environment allowed me to make the most out of every minute that I spent there and I’d love to go back again to continue learning this wonderful art. I’d like to send sincere thanks and appreciation to both Alicia and her son Luciano who is also a skilled leatherwork craftsman – and helped with translation when required as I speak no Italian! I highly recommend the course to anyone interested in leatherwork.OlgaAustralia

I did a three week course with Alicia and I was really satisfied with everything she taught me, always trying to make sure I understood and assimilated correctly the steps to make a quality and durable leather bag. I will come back to learn more and more. Greetings Rosalía.

  7. Taribba

I thoroughly enjoyed my leather bag making course. Alicia is a wonderful and patient teacher. She not only gave me the techniques to build an awesome bag but also how to run an efficient workshop. I did a 24 hour class in 1 week, and even after the first day I had learned so many tricks already. I would recommend Alicia to anyone interested in learning to make bags professionally or even as a hobby.

  8. Amelie

I absolutely loved my leather making course. The extreme luxury of being one student of one teachers full attention is priceless, and you learn very much in short time.I did 4 weeks of 24 hours and we made one bag a week. The level of the bags varied and we did simple ones and more difficult ones the more I learned, there was little limitation! You work together with the teacher/artisan on your own design.Alicia was amazing, very pedagogic and teaching a design/production process aswell as secrets of her long experience. I would recommend everyone who wants to learn the craft to use this method of learning!

  9. Chloe

I loved my leather course. i thought it was great how you work individually with the artisans. it sure is a huge process creating a leather bag and very interesting at the same time. it is very expensive but i was happy to pay as i did enjoy it.Loved Sofia and her home. she was very welcoming and friendly, and also helpful.Chloe, Australia

Ciao,I had an amazing time in Florence! What an enchanting city! The only problem is I didn’t have nearly enough time to see everything, so the only solution will be to visit many more times. The staff at school were friendly and welcoming, the other students were lovely and the location was perfect! The leather course was awesome!!!Alicia was a fantastic teacher, but also she is a very wonderful person. I made some beautiful leather things and her system of design and construction was perfect for a complete beginner. She is able to break everything down into easy steps and I hope to continue this activity at home with all the skills she gave me. The location of her shop was very convenient.I really appreciate the help in organising everything!Grazie mille,Mike, Australia
