Our Italian Courses in Bologna

Italian courses in Bologna start every Monday of the year and are available for all levels, from beginner to advanced.

The Italian language school Cultura Italiana is located in an old building in the historic centre, very close to the Two Towers and Piazza Maggiore.

Founded in 1981 and officially recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, it has over 40 years of experience and offers an international environment where only Italian is spoken, both inside and outside the classroom.

Its teachers are native speakers and highly qualified, specialising in teaching Italian to foreign students. The school promotes a communicative approach that facilitates total immersion in the Italian language and culture from day one.

Course structure:

  • 4 lessons per day, Monday to Friday
  • 10 hours per week of cultural and extracurricular activities (seminars, workshops, visits, language exchanges)
  • Small groups: between 6 and 12 students
  • Morning or afternoon timetables depending on level
  • Flexible duration: from 1 to 48 weeks

Classes are divided into two parts:

  • The first focuses on grammar and vocabulary
  • The second focuses on oral expression and communication

This communicative method ensures that you start speaking Italian from day one.

Only Italian is used at the school to encourage total immersion.

On the first day of class, you will take an oral and written test to determine your level and assign you to the appropriate group (the school offers 8 different levels throughout the year).

At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of participation with the level you have achieved.

All teachers are native speakers with extensive experience and training in teaching Italian as a foreign language.

Group Size and Personalized Attention

With a maximum of 12 students per class, these courses maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio. This environment fosters personalized attention, allowing instructors to focus on individual needs and make learning more effective. Smaller groups enhance interaction and provide ample opportunity for practice.

My feedback with regard to my week’s course with you is very positive.
The gentleman who introduced the course and who did the “passeggiata” with us on the first day was charming.

I was unable to attend the afternoon sessions unfortunately but the morning sessions with Marina and Marco were excellent. I was glad to learn the subjunctive.
Marina was very clear in particular and fun.

This intensive course has been very interesting and very profitable for me. I enjoyed myself as much as I learned in this small immersion.the evaluation is positive although I found the number of students per class excessive; it was solved in the conversation but not in the grammar part.the atmosphere very pleasant.as for the residence, very well located and welcoming on the part of the lady.the bathroom was too small.I think I will repeat. The bathroom was too small and I think I will come again.

It has been a great week, it has not disappointed any of my expectations. The house very well. She is lovely and although you know that we lived in an attached house, she took care to talk, and that we were with her for a while. She made us a very nice dinner and on the last day she accompanied us to the airport. One of the toilets was a bit less “usable” but it was small and the school was also very good. Serious, good but friendly teachers. The activities were very interesting. All in all, I have to say that for me everything was great. It is clear that Studia in Italia section Spain, advises well and delivers.

The week I spent in Bologna was great. The city is welcoming and with all possible services, the school is highly recommended. It is in the heart of the city in a very charming palace. I would like to thank the teachers Francesco and Chiara for their great dedication in the classes. The director, Massimo, is a great professional. All the staff help you in everything and do not hesitate to offer you all kinds of alternatives to your requests and doubts.

The courses at the Scuola di Bologna are very good, the teachers are great like Maria and Estefania, others like Marina leave a lot to be desired because of their lack of professionalism, Studiainitalia is always aware of every detail and at the slightest problem they try to solve it, I will repeat, but in another city, as Bologna is too quiet in August and expensive.

Bologna was just a dream this summer. I had the time of my life. The way the classes and accommodation worked was fantastic. The city is magical, it feels like you go back in time and the cultural experience it offers is without comparison. The classes and teachers were well structured and competent and the level was also manageable for a beginner like me. You can always change it if it doesn’t work for you. I have to say that I would definitely repeat with Studiainitalia for future trips.

The choice of Bologna was the right one. The city has a special charm, not so touristy and with many leisure options, both the school and my house were in the city centre and you could walk anywhere, and of course, from Bologna Centrale station you could visit cities like Verona, Ravenna, Ferrara, Modena-Maranello or Rimini, as you can see I didn’t stop. As you can see I didn’t stop and I found the school to be correct. Everyone, without exception, is extremely friendly. As for the course, there was a change of teachers due to holidays and a certain mix of levels, I suppose due to a lack of students. In the grammar part we were 5-6 people and in the oral part we were 13-14. Perfect. Anyway, maybe my mood was not as good as other times for the course and you know that after 2-3 years of study the Italian language is more complex and maybe not so much fun. The school is therefore totally recommendable.
