Our pottery course in Florence runs in an artisan workshop “bottega” in Florence. The artisan organizes this course all year.
Italy has a long history with ceramics and it is important to remember that ceramic is also a form of artistic expression. Some of the most important types of Italian pottery are Deruta and Montelupo, near Florence. Both of these towns are located along rivers where there are natural clay deposits. The perfect location for the production of maiolica.
The course is one to one. You will be followed by the master craftman in every step of your learning.
This throwing course can be taught either in Italian or in English. Since lessons are individual, the programme can be adapted to your own needs.

I did a 2 week course in Ceramics. Coming from abroad there was very little information about what to expect about during the course and what I would learn but I was assured that this would be sorted out on my first day.
Communication prior to arrival with Studioinitalia was good, and the found me great accomodation for the 2 weeks I spent in Florence. Unfortunately the communication between them and the course provider, the ceramics studio, was very little.

Tudo funcionou bem! Passei um tempo maravilhoso em Florença fazendo cerâmica por uma semana. Sugestões: teria sido bom descrever melhor a escola de cerâmica e a cerâmica específica que faz. O site não era muito claro quanto à organização de tudo. Tive que pedir detalhes, como contato e endereço da escola de cerâmica, em vez de recebê-los.Sem dúvida, eu voltaria a reservar pelo studiainitalia!Obrigada!!!

¡Todo funcionó bien! Me lo pasé muy bien en Florencia haciendo cerámica durante una semana. Sugerencias: habría estado bien una mejor descripción de la escuela de alfarería y de la alfarería específica que se hace. El sitio web era un poco confuso en cuanto a cómo se organiza todo. Tuve que pedir detalles como el contacto y la dirección de la escuela de alfarería en lugar de que me los facilitaran.Sin duda volvería a reservar a través de studiainitalia.¡Gracias!

Tout s’est bien passé ! J’ai passé un très bon moment à Florence en faisant de la poterie pendant une semaine. Suggestions : une meilleure description de l’école de poterie et de la poterie spécifique fabriquée aurait été appréciable. Le site web était un peu confus quant à la façon dont tout est organisé. J’ai dû demander des détails tels que le contact et l’adresse de l’école de poterie au lieu de les recevoir.Je réserverai certainement à nouveau par l’intermédiaire de studiainitalia.Merci !

Everything worked well! I had a wonderful time in Florence pottering for one week. Suggestions: better description of the pottery school and the specific pottery done would have been nice. The website was a bit unclear as to how everything gets organised. As you know, our courses are totally tailor made so it is quite difficult to send programs before because, firstly, you need to meet the artisan personally and then, together, define your own program. Tudo foi uma experiência muito agradável. Cheguei à casa de Amalia, que me recebeu com um jantar delicioso. O apartamento era muito bonito e ela era muito charmosa. Infelizmente, o curso foi muito curto por causa do feriado, mas foi maravilhoso. Giuditta, a professora de cerâmica, é uma mulher maravilhosa, talentosa, uma professora magnífica. Everything was a very pleasant experience. I arrived at Amalia’s house who welcomed me with a delicious dinner. The flat was very nice and she was very charming. The course was unfortunately very short because of the holiday but wonderful. Giuditta, the ceramics teacher, a wonderful woman, talented, a magnificent teacher. She gave me private lessons so in three days I learnt a lot. The organisation of Studiaenitalia was fantastic.
