Why study Italian in Turin?

One of the best reasons to study Italian in Turin, Italy is the quality of the spoken language. Turin offers a “clean” environment for learners.

  • Neutral & Elegant Accent: The local accent is widely considered one of the clearest and most “standard” in Italy. This makes it significantly easier for beginners to mimic correct pronunciation.

  • Measured Pace: Locals tend to articulate well and speak at a steady, measured pace, which is a lifesaver for students practicing their listening skills.

  • Standard Italian over Dialect: While the local Piemontese dialect exists, it is rarely used with outsiders. You will almost always hear and speak standard Italian.

I had an excellent week in Torino, speaking Italian almost the entire time, which is exactly what I was looking for. The school – L’Italiano Porticando – was very professional, the materials interesting and effective and the level of the class was exactly right for me. I will seriously consider returning there in the future to continue the progress I made – one week was not enough! I was also very happy to be placed in an apartment with a landlady who only spoke Italian, an enjoyable walk from the school. I didn’t know much about Torino before I went but I can highly recommend it. The overall organisation by studiainitalia was very efficient, prompt responses to queries and lots of information provided to make the week go smoothly. Well done!

I have just completed a one-week course in Turin. Wonderful city. It has been a great experience. Starting with the attentive attention, solving my doubts when I asked for information, the search for accommodation, the classes, the teachers, the leisure activities… everything has been perfect. I totally recommend it.

The teaching at the school was excellent. I really improved my grammar and thought the classes were well balanced between general conversation in Italian and exercises. The afternoon trips in Turin organised by the school were the best part. They were a brilliant way to do something different whilst speaking Italian, a way to make some new friends, and learn a lot from the very knowledgeable teachers at the school.

This is the second time I have chosen a stay organised with you and the experience is always fantastic. My trip to Torino was spectacular. The school is good, it is appreciated that there are few students in class and the attention is very direct and familiar. They also organise guided excursions and activities from the school, a wonderful opportunity to practise the language with the other students and to get to know the city. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the school. I would also like to thank Lara and Federica for all their help, facilities and telephone support, a great experience for travelling, learning languages and getting to know life in Italy. Totally recommendable. I will repeat… Torino is also a surprising city.

My stay in Torino was fantastic, the accommodation was good and the school was also very good. The only bad thing was that I didn’t have much time, when I was starting to get used to speaking I had to leave.

Turin is undoubtedly the ideal place to take an Italian language course. The city has a very intense cultural life and offers many possibilities that other cities don’t have. With regard to the school, I would like to highlight its location and the professionalism and friendliness of all the teachers. The accommodation is also very central. To repeat.
