This course is offered all year-round, on request. It is taught by historical dancer Marco Bendoni. One of his projects, “I Medici”, is a Renaissance dance show that recreates the celebration of the marriage between Cosimo I de Medici and Eleanor of Toledo in 1539, that was premiered at the Museo Nazionale Bargello (Palazzo Medici Riccardi), with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture.

The Renaissance dance course programme includes:

 

  • Historical introduction to the dances of the Renaissance.
  • Study of the choreographies of this period, such as the “bassa danza”, the “gallarda” or the “pavana”.
  • Improvisation exercises on elements of ancient dance.

Complete course: 35 hours.

 

Including guided tour and dinner-gathering.
